KSA 1: Contextual Variables
Contextual variables affect teaching and learning. They know how to analyse many variables at one time, and how to respond by making reasoned decisions about their teaching practice and students’ learning.
I have had different experiences with adjusting lesson delivery, assignments, and assessments to suit the students that I am woking with. Adapting to your 'audience' is important for student engagement and success!
I have created a website for my professional development project for my 3rd practicum where I have found and put together a database of some enrichment activities for the high school sciences. (Chinooks Edge School Division Science Resources)

Project Based Learning
Project Based learning is an educational strategy that can cover a variety of KSAs in Alberta including Contextual Variables. This style of teaching and learning takes into account different learning styles as well as facilitates learning for students with different backgrounds. Below are some images from a professional development session on Project Based Learning at High Tech High in San Diego, California.
